KIDS Yoga Term 1 - 2020
Children and Yoga are made for each other! There is no other form of exercise that offers such a wide range of movements to play around with. It's not only great exercise for a child's body but also their mind, fostering self awareness and broadening awareness of the world around them.
Unlike an adult yoga classes, children's yoga is interactive and children move their bodies in yoga on focused based games and activities to connect in a more fun and creative way. The poses are the same ones used in adult classes and safety is just as important. Each class ends with a relaxation session teaching children to reduce and mange stress as well as develop skills to help concentration.
Kids Yoga class open for 8yr-12yr olds, through the practice and exploration of yoga poses, relaxation and meditation, children develop physical strength and stamina, greater emotional stability and a positive body image.
Over the course we will be teaching the core basics of Yoga poses, learning the Asana's (poses names) and a chant. We aim to keep things fun and friendly taught by our qualified instructors, Shannon Jefferies & Tamihana Paurini.
Run once every Tuesday for 10 weeks at 4pm, classes are 45min long, from the 4th February - 7th April 2020.
